Liverpool BRM CVS Forum exists to provide services for Black & Racial Minority [BRM] Voluntary & Community Sector [VCS] organisations, help develop their organisational capacity, and a strong and sustainable BRM CVS. The main aim is :
To empower BRM organisations to play an active role in community regeneration and strengthen the infrastructure of, and support to, the BRM CVS in Liverpool.
Strengthen local BRM VCS organisations in Liverpool.
Develop a range of project services to support sustainable development in the BRM VCS
Liverpool BRM CVS Forum was established in 2001. Its aim: to secure resources to provide quality organisational and community development (capacity building), funding and practical support services to the BRM VCS in Liverpool.
The support and confidence local BRM VCS organisations have in the work of the BRM CVS Forum is demonstrated by the number of mentions it got in the BRM consultation over ChangeUp.
Without funding or the means to produce publicity or promotional materials, groups have come to members of the BRM CVS for assistance (because of word-of-mouth recommendation, and because no other agency working ‘in the field’ was offering the development services that the organisations needed).
